small shoe sealing iron

Postby Steve Mansell » December 7th, 2017, 11:41 pm

does anyone know where I can get a trim sealing iron in UK. My present build has under-cambered wings, and an iron with a small shoe would make it easier to adhere the 'tex to the bottom of the ribs without shrinking the panels between.
A search on the net gave one result from the US, at £84 plus shipping!

Cheers
Steve

May I also suggest coating the underside of the ribs with watered down PVA, or balsaloc— same thing

cheers Alan, I've got some balsaloc. The scale stuff has pushed the weight up so much I might just nail the covering on!

Had one of these for a few years....V useful, especially for finer details like rib tapes and getting into tricky corners etc.....

Highly recommended.
