LMA GARDEN PARTY FLY-IN Catton Park

Postby Paul Savage 1568 » April 25th, 2010, 8:11 am

LMA Garden Party Fly-in June 12th & 13th 2010.
Undeterred by the unprecedented continuous torrents of rain that completely washed out last years event, we are once again extending the LMA Garden Party Fly-In from its original one day format to a full weekend event. We are confident that the weather for this year’s event will be a massive improvement over last years on account that the weather simply couldn’t get any worse than it was at last years event. This is an fully endorsed LMA Event and open exclusively to LMA members and
their families and invited guests.

For 2010 we are implementing further improvements to our site layout and the Garden Party event
in general. The main flying field will be set out as it will be for our September event, which means that pilots will have access to a far greater area of flat, short cut grass. The access to the flying site
will be directly from the main road and through the new field behind our main site rather than through the flying site itself as in previous years. This will completely remove all moving traffic from the main flying site and increase safety to all on site. The new field will also be used to accommodate an almost unlimited number of LMA campers of whom will enjoy easy access to the main site via the link bridge. Hot and cold food and beverages will be available to all on site and there will be limited overnight model storage facilities available.

The flying field will be open to all i.c powered models everyday from 10.00 am until 5.00 pm, Friday to Sunday with unlimited access to all sizes of quiet, electric powered models from 5.00 pm till dusk. This means that Friday arrivals can also enjoy an opportunity to have a few flights should they wish to do so.

There will be no slotting as such unless a number of you, such as the WW1 or 1930's racing team would wish to reserve a slot for yourselves. Transmitter control will be implemented should the number of pilots in attendance warrant it and although many now operate on 2.4 GHz we will have a manned transmitter control tent in operation during the mornings in order to properly accommodate those of to us operating on 35 MHz although flying will be off the peg with 20k spacing . An open invitation is extended to any trader to come aong to this event. There are no charges involved, so should you wish to come along and sell your wares then you are more than welcome to just turn up. Portaloos, Elson tank and drinking water are also provided of course.

There are no requirements for you to book in your caravan, camper or tent with us as available camping space is no longer an issue, but if you could drop us an email just let us know if you intend to camp ( a number have already done so ) then that would help us to plan for numbers in advance.

We look forwards to seeing you here in June.

Well you may well need a brollie to keep the raging sun from burning you this year Glenn, or is that just wishful thinking on my part.
