Hi
Just a small question for you ladies and gentlemen. When your asked this year to renew your membership to your local club are they asking you to provide the club with your operators number and flying ID number in order to join your local club.
Seems we have a no numbers no membership
Hope I have asked the question correctly
Regards

Our club, along with some others I am aware of take the view that it is the responsibility of individual members to comply with the law, whether it is being fit to fly, satisfying themselves their aircraft is airworthy, or indeed that they have the relevant CAA documentation.
The club will not act as policemen for the CAA.

I agree with David although I suspect that might be a minority view.

John
Both the clubs I belong to have adopted the same stance as David describes. We are not empowered with the same powers as the police to stop and search.

Likewise for my club. We do not check or record CAA numbers. It is the pilots responsibility to comply with their legal requirements. For the same reason we don't ask to see their drivers licence or car insurance either.
