Lacquer or waterproof clear finish over acrylic paints?

Having just finished my plan built Chris Golds KI-61 in Tamiya acylic paint i want to waterproof it as another of my acrylic painted models has got sweaty finger marks on the paint so water will end up spoiling this one unless a clear waterproof coat goes on it. Has anyone used something over acrylics they can recommend that will protect it against water, i would prefer a satin type finish but beggars can`t be choosers!
