All,
I know this could open a can of worms but......
What is everyones choice of aerofoil for larger models? The model in question is a C-160 Transall at about 120" span so not aerobatic but needs to be stable. i have read so many conflicting opinions on what should be used for aircraft design but is there a proven aerofoil that just works??

Cheers
Nick

Nick , I know of many modellers who used the NACA 2412 and 2415 sections with very nice flying characteristics .
Mr Cessna also used same sections on most of his aircraft , again with good results .
Their are more modern sections often with a smaller nose radius that on paper should be better or rather more efficient , but sometimes these sections can be more critical in terms of their stability and stall characteristics .
With a model in the air , it can at times , be difficult to estimate the speed of your model and the use of a more benign wing section which would let you know if you were getting near the stall , giving you time to adjust your airspeed.
Hope the above helps , good luck with your model .
