Very sad news, indeed. Rosanne, John's wife, has just rung me to confirm John's passing. He was a stalwart of the Association and served as a 'Member at Large' on the Board of Guardians for many years as well as being a regular attender and enthusiastic flyer at many, many LMA events.

I hold him in particular regard as he was always very supportive during my terms as LMA Chairman and thereafter Chair of the BoG. I also counted him a close friend. Although he had not been active in the last year or two due to deteriorating health and eyesight, he retained his interest in the LMA.

Sincere condolences to Rosanne and the family. We will miss him ----.

A measure of the man was that when he gave up flying, he had me sell all his models, and gifted the moneys raised to airmans charitys, he was also our retired club chairman, (bury metro mfc) a post he held for may years, and was an enthusiastic teacher of tyro flyers, being involved with anything that furthered the ambitions of the club, i hope that BMMFC carry on his superb work
