Dave really sorry to hear this - I know Clive had been quite seriously ill for a several years but always made a special effort to attend LMA events. Until a few years ago he was always the first to be a scrutineer on the flight line and did an excellent job of this in a firm but pleasant manner. He will be missed by many members of the LMA

Clive was a thoroughly nice chap who worked hard for the LMA in his own quiet and
unassuming way. He's another we're going to miss, greatly. Sadly, his type are getting
more difficult to replace as each year passes .... Heartfelt condolences to his family.

Sorry to say I only got to know Clive in the later years of his LMA involvement, but we always seem to have a laugh with him when he was at the shows the last couple of years you would see him sat just outside the TX tent chatting away with everybody then the next thing he would be asleep, a lovely man and he will be sadly missed, my thought are with his wife Pam and family at this difficult time god bless you Clive and rest in peace mate.
Dave.

From Anne Hobson, Clive's daughterHello all
I just wanted to say thank you so much for all of the lovely posts on here and for the flowers you sent on to my mum. They're absolutely beautiful and we're all very touched.
Your posts have really made myself, mum and my sister, Jane, smile today - particularly Tony noting Dad's 'pleasant but firm manner' (how true!) and Dave P remembering him asleep outside the TX tent. Dad did like to snooze!
If you don't mind, we'll be using some of your thoughts/comments for our eulogy at the funeral, which is on Tuesday, May 8th, at 1pm at Warrington Crematorium. All are welcome. Dad wouldn't have liked much fuss but we've really enjoyed the love and affection people have shared with us over the last few days and we'd be delighted with any who want to join us to celebrate his life. We're heading up to Walton Hall next door to the Crem for a sandwich and drink after and again, if you would like to come along you'd be welcome.
I have been asked about flowers/donations for the funeral and we'd not really thought about this, but if that's something of interest, we'll be doing a little collection on the day for the Warrington and Halton Hospitals Charitable Fund. Over the years, Dad needed lots of help at hospital and though he hated being there, always said how well they'd looked after him. They looked after us in particular during the last few days too, so it's our way of saying thank you. There's a link below.
Anyway, thank you again. If you think you'd like to come along to the funeral and have time to let me know, that's great. My mail is
annehobson12@btinternet.com No worries if you don't have time to contact me, please just come along. Thanks again for all your kind words. Being part of the LMA made my Dad really happy and he enjoyed everyone's friendship immensely.
With kind regards, Pam, Anne and Jane x

Hi there
Myself, mum Pam and my sister Jane would just like to say thank you again to all who were able to join us at my Dad's funeral. It went well and I am sure Dad would've very much liked being 'played out' to 633 squadron!
Heartfelt thanks, too, for your kind donations. As I mentioned, we're looking to donate the money to the Hospital charity - just waiting to hear back now if there's something specific we can contribute to in Dad's name.
With kindest regards
Anne Hobson (Clive's daughter)
