Unusual camera angle

Thought I'd share this video taken of me flying, but it's more about the camera work. Quads, Tricopters, Hexacopters etc are getting more and more popular, we have at least 10 in my club now and one of our members Neil is very good at videoing from his quad.

See what you think.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I was taught to fly in a pilots box so to speak, so we were all stood together, that way we can call out our intentions so other pilots know what each other are dong. I don’t think I would like a circular saw rotating around the back of my head and the distance between the pilots means you would have to shout to make yourself heard. I don’t class that as safe flying at all, Just my opinion.

We do fly from a box normally. This was a special one off, done with everyone knowing exactly what was being done from the start, each pilot had a spotter, the prop hanging was done further out to be away from the pits etc, so well planned, safe and controlled. Plus all the models are electric, so no real noise to shout over.

High tech, pioneering stuff which allows for previously unachievable camera angles to be had in glorious high definition.

If the police are comfortable with hovering these things over large crowds then I can't see too much of an issue with two or three
guys working together at what looks like a desserted and quite isolated flying site.

I think that filming and photographing model aircraft, especially very large scale aircraft, is not just paying a massive compliment
to the guys who build and /or fly them but also a recognition of the efforts that the guys put into them.

Just Imagine some of the high definition and spectacularly realistic air to air flying footage of some of our megga models that could be achieved by using this technology. Awesome..... What Niel Hutchinson has done for modern model photography, this could do for modern model videography. I want one....
