New wine in old bottles??

I've just converted my very old Multiplex Royal (25+years) to 2.4 with the FrSky Tx modification. I was a little bit wary about the results but after some pretty extensive testing on, first a foam electric model and then my trusty 62cc Megawot all seems to be perfectly good. The range is excellent and, of course, the price of this equipment is more than competitive. The Multiplex gear was very expensive when I bought it 25 years ago, can you believe nearly £600, and it has always been 100% reliable so this will give it a new lease of life. Ok, so it isn't computerised 'state of the art' but it will do everything a modern set of gear will do by flicking switches and turning knobs. I like that !!! Anyone else converted anything older ?
Some piccys of the mod.

Nice one David. I have been using the FrSky gear since it was first imported by the big fish , using there module in my Futaba Txs with 100% success .Like you I started using it in smaller models but now its in everything including my over 20kg 1/3rd scale Wilga glider tug and I cant fault it in any way.

Great to see that TX get a new lease of life and what a great way to go to 2.4. Just shows you don't have to go out and spend a fortune to convert from 35.
Now when is there new 12 channel set up coming out , as thats the only limiting factor of the system, 8 channels .
Also I am thinking of having a play with there Telemetry gear,as that looks like it could be interesting and useful on some of the larger models.
