Postby Vince Raia » May 3rd, 2013, 8:34 am

Hello all

Colin's funeral is to be held on Friday 10th May at 11.15am at the Croydon Crematorium, Thornton Rd, Thornton Heath, Croydon, Surrey.

There will be a collection box in the crematorium and at the undertakers, for Sussex Air Ambulance (in preference to flowers).

All welcome.

Any questions, please phone me.

Thank you,
VIC,
HMFC (Treasurer)

Hi all, I would like to report that Colin's funeral was a lovely and fitting affair for a great guy, brilliant modeler and pilot, and a person whose name will go down in the annuls of the history of this hobby.

I would like to thank Dave Johnson, Ken Ritchie and Dave Bailey for travelling the journey to pay their respects, I'm sure Colin would be grateful as were Rose and his family.

There will be a fly-in in July at the Club field as a memorial to Colin, and Eric Daniels, past Chairman and Club President who also passed away on the same day as Colin.

It is intended to have a fly past of Colin's previously owned and built models by their new owners, and there will be a special prize presented at the show, finer details are still being put in place but for information check the Hastings Club Web Site for Committee members contact numbers and fuller information.

Many thanks,
Vince Raia.

Hi Vince---thanks for the comments---I wont say it was a pleasure because these things never are,but we thought it only right to make the effort to travel the 450 miles round trip to show our respects for Colin---as you say it was a fitting affair, plus it was good to meet up with all you SUVERNERS down there---hope to be able to make it in July, but I already have a family commitment on the Saturday so it would be another 5.30 am start on the Sunday---will see how things and the weather are nearer the time---DAVE
