Win Commander Ken Waliss, of autogyro fame, has died, a good innings at 97, but what a talent we have lost, i saw him in display flying the bond autogyro Little Nellie, nice guy, and a sad loss, i just hope his talent is written down for the future, and i hope his collection of superb little machines gets good homes

Wing Cmdr Wallis was a lovely man and if you never heard one of this talks which covered his entire life then you really missed a treat. The BBC website has a very nice feature on him.....
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-23961175He also had very strong ties with a local aviation museum of which he was president and I believe his entire collection will eventually end up there......
http://www.aviationmuseum.net/A very nice museum with free entry if your every on the Norfolk/Suffolk border.
RIP

Truly a big loss to the aviation community, Wing Commander Ken Wallis was a true gentalman and on the few times that I met him he was always pleased to talk about auto gyros for what was probably the millionth time for him.
A day to celebrate the life of Wing Commander Ken Wallis is to be held at Old Buckenham Airfield on Sunday, September 29th. see the link below....
