Bit of a debate going on on another forum, a scratch builder of a 90inch auster has asked for the best advice to secure his wings onto the cabane, he does not want unsightly stuff visible through the glass top, fair enough, but its been suggested he uses these new generation super magnets to hold the wing against the cabane, 1st. i think we will see the wings fluttering prettily down, 2nd, i advised against using them, because i have been advised on here, about placing them too near the reciever, could these magnets up set the radio? i think he is using spectrum, not sure, others have jumped in and said the magnets hold no threat to the radio, but, i am only going off what i have been told on here, anyone have any views?
for the record, i have suggested inverted L shaped steel brackets into 2 rebated slots in the top wing, and bolts through to secure the wings, with the neccasary sub structure to take this attachment, using the strut as a working strut, the Auster is 90inch span,
