could i ask the catton guys, what do they use to power their DB SE5s, i bought a nice example at weston park, the old 1piece wing version, with the intent of fitting a zenoah 38' but it would need much modification to take this motor, looks like it may have had a standard engine mount fitted, i have zenoah 23s, mvvs 160s, a 3w 20, and, if i must, a new unrun stovepipe laser 150, not used a glow fuel motor for a while, oh god, ive become a richard

My mate had a Ryobi 32cc in his. I have one if you want) Was perfect. However, that would be a similar mount to the Z38. Any news on mine, Alan?

Alan.

Most of our SE5's are indeed fitted with a Zenoah G38 but as you rightly pointed out, there is quite a lot of major surgery needed to the main firewall in order to get them in.

If you can get your hands on any of the newer compact DLE CRRC AGM 30 cc, 35cc or even 40cc type of engines then any of them will do the job very well and can be persuaded to fit onto the original firewall.

Hope this helps.

Paul.

i have a DB se5a with a zenoha 26 in it and flys fine now you say you have a 3w 20 this may do the job depending on the weight of the plane and the size of prop the 3w will turn.. Zenoah 26 on a carbon 18*8 is perfect so if a 3w can turn the same prop at 7800 -8000 rpm there should not be a problem
