Myford tool....HELP?

Postby Phil Clark » October 7th, 2014, 8:37 pm

Having recently come into a quantity of metal work tooling, I'm struggling to find out exactly what this is (Dum question maybe, but I'm not a machinist & have never seen one of these before)

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Phil

Its a vertical milling slide Phil, on your crosslide, you will find some T slots, these take the T slot nuts you see in the picture,
On the side facing down, the milling table face, are the work mount T slots, these take clamping bolts, that clamp the work to the table, the workpiece can be orientated to the desired angle required by undoing the 2 hex nuts you can see, there are 2 sets of these, both can be altered by degree,
The myford is quite a decent bit of kit, the boxford was by far the more superior lathe, but they never developed the amount of accesories myford did,

Wot else you got?.
