On a day when Jeremy Corbyn and David Cameron complimented each other in parliament and made the world seem a much nicer place may I carry on with that theme and say this latest journal is a credit to all concerned and has made my world a better place.

What lovely complements, this has made my day better already. It always seems so easy to criticise things no matter what it is. So to get a complement can be a big boost and an acknowledgement you are doing something right. (I can only hope the rest of the membership feel the same way).

SO A BIG THANKYOU FROM ME

May I also say a big thankyou to all the contributors because without them we wouldn’t have a Journal in the first place.

Dave Parry (Journal Editor) :)

It always amazes's me how a small organisation like ours can produce such a profesional magazine. The quality of the show photos are fantastic,Well done Dave and the team.

Yes, especially when the 'other' organisation with 35,000 members produces a mag that gets slagged off and slated by a lot of its readers- some of whom just put it straight in the bin! Well done to all.

Really nice edition this month. Lovely job ,thanks all. The trouble with the bmfa rag is that it is trying to please everyone. You don't. Generally I read the Manny Williams section at the front and the club spotlight at the back.
In the middle is always old timers, free flight and nostalgia. Not for me.

As much as I am not a lover of the BMFA, I can sympathise with their situation, it is very hard to come up with a balance for all. Us modellers are a fickle bunch we tend only to be interested in what we like and don’t entertain anything else. I know I am one of them, you will probably fine some don’t like the Journal, I have had comments that some articles go on to long, I cover to many shows and fly-in etc. But when you think about it, that is in the main of what we do, so what else am I supposed to do.

My saving grace comes down to a few people in the end who go out of their way to help get me the articles to keep it going, I have mention some above, I am now taking a more active role and trying to cover things outside the LMA bubble, whether members will be interested only time will tell. Dave Swarbrick always send me good articles along with Don Billingham both regular, it doesn’t always have to be about big model builds, stories and event experiences always works for me. Keeping the magazine fresh is the key factor in all of this. I just hope I keep ours looking fresh until I hand over the reins to someone else.

I am always interested in your thoughts, good or bad, I have made an appeal on more than one occasion for articles on how you all get around problems you face when building your models, tips and tricks you could share with others, I would love some of the ladies to contribute. I have tons of ideas I just need you all to help me deliver them.

As I said in the beginning I don’t envy the editor of the BMFA News, it can be a thankless job, 35,000 as appose to just over a 1,000 LMA members I am clearly not under as much pressure as him, but then again I don’t get paid ether.

Glad you are all enjoying the Journal I shall do my best to keep it going.
