After searching the forum for the build threads etc on the Wellington, I assume all the info was lost due to the new website?

I am just starting to build mine and am curious as to which engines and props the guys are using. I just looked at the you tube video of the 5 Wellingtons flying...wonderful!!!

To answer your question about engines and props on the Wellingtons. Mine (and just about all the others) use Zenoah 26 engines mounted inverted.
Props on mine are 16/10 three blade G Sonic. The others favour 16/8 three blade.

G 26's are rare as hens teeth in Canada at the moment, no one has any in stock, even Horizon in the US is out of stock.

I have ordered a pair of RCGF 26's...RCGF seems to have a pretty good reputation in the US., plus I can buy a pair for about $100.00 more than a single G 26 up here in Canada
I also have the 16/10 G- sonic props.
Starting to gather radio gear etc.

My Welly is coming along, fuse 50% done, wings framed and fitted ( starting some sheeting), tail surfaces framed and fitted, landing gear from Kingfisher is here, cowls from Vortex...very nicely done, by the way.

I'm at the decision point as to what to do with the bomb bay, so I spend a lot of time staring at the plans,,,thinking...lol.

To make a bomb bay that's even vaguely scale would be a complete nightmare...so I didn't bother and just put a hatch in the bottom to get to the wing fixings

It can be very time consuming constructing bomb doors and if they are true to scale they take away a great deal of the strength of the fuselage.
I made mine to scale but shorter if that makes sense. They are not hinged but are removable if needed to get to the inside as Rob said.

What are you gents using for a tail wheel retract?
I've given up on Kingfisher and no joy from Unitracts, but I was contacted by Dave Brown (Thank you, Dave)who stated he had not had any call for a Welly t/wheel retract unit but would see if anything suitable could be found.
I've heard nothing back from Dave to date.

I was just using a standard '40' size model nose gear electric retract. Most don't retract the tailwheel.

Dave---as above---I used the standard wire sprung trainer noseleg----it was easy to install on a bulkhead and it works great-----DAVE
