"I have this blooming agonising back problem caused when I slipped off a step ladder whilst cleaning the top of my caravan. Pain relief comes with the taking of many Paracetamol tablets. I can now only drive a few miles before I have to ask my wife Jan to take over the wheel. The result is that I have to let everyone know that I cannot put out my DB Sound loudspeakers and cables and present shows any more after some sixty plus years. As a Press Card holder I will now concentrate on writing stories about the people I have met at airshows from all over the world. Apart from presenting “local” club events, I will be a spectator and reporter at events and shows for this coming year of 2017. I will continue supporting the Great Ormond Street Hospital for sick children and in the meantime I must thank my team of Paul, Stuart and Rob, all magazine editors and their staffs, traders, show arrangers, friends and associates that I have made at home and all over the world. In my mind I am playing my signature tune of “Bye - Bye Blues” for the last time.
