Hi All

I am looking at the Hobbyking heat shrink/iron on coverings and they get good reviews. However, it doesnt say if they are petrol proof so has anyone any experience of using them

i can confirm they are petrol poof i used them with out issues,

Hi Pat. I had to repair my hangar 9 Valiant last year and my only source for the genuine heat shrink covering material
was Hobby king. The exact colours too. I believe it may possibly be ultracote. This covering offers the same Qualities
and Characteristics as Profilm, very high temp covering, strong and waterproof of course.

pat just some user advise

test it on a small area to gauge temp for covering HK film needs a slightly hotter iron to get the best results

have used them and they are petrol proof ,my twinley is covered in it.

I have also used it.
Great stuff, covers well shrinks nicely and takes a lot of heat.

The only slight downside is that the adhesive sometimes leaks out from the seams. A touch of acetone on a cloth soon clears that up.

Brilliant covering - a few years ago at Euroflugtag the weather was exceptional in the high 30's. My 1/3rd cub was subject to this baking over the 5 day period and didn't slacken . Model now about 4 years old and film still good and not seen a heat gun since it was applied.
Comes in a great range of colours, forms around compound curves well, petrol proof and very inexpensive; it has become my go - to film. Pity they don't make a heat shrink fabric. As mentioned the white adhesive can bleed out sometimes but easily cleaned with acetone or thinners.
