engine advice please

Postby richard armstrong » September 11th, 2018, 8:36 pm

i have a 1/4scale chippie, it orginally had the q42 cc in

as i cannot get the q42 to run stable i have deiced to change the engine

now i have some advice to put a 35cc back in it

i was wondering if the ngh38cc fs would be adaqate power or should i up the power to 55cc with rear or pitts, to give me wriggle room

by the way the q42 is free to a good home it runs then dies.

Richard, listen to the advice of Mr Holland, get a Zenoah 38 and be done with it!

Hi Richard, I'm currently building a 1/4 scale Jerry Bates Chipmunk, and the plan recommends a 38 Zenoah. Having said that, Mike is going to put an equivalent OS petrol in it. If I was building it for me I'd stick with the Zenoah, but that's just personal preference.
Hope this helps, Jonesey.

Richard

If you are disposing of the Q42, I will have it. I have a box of old Q42 parts that I keep to help keep these old motors running. I am sure there are some parts on your motor that can be used to keep others running.
