Reduction Drive

Myself and a couple of other club mates have decided to build a DB Giant Mannock. We shall be using an Evolution 33gx with reduction drive.
Currently the idea is to go with a 1:1.8 reduction using a toothed belt.

What prop would be of use ? The full size used a 96” diameter prop. So just under 1/3 scale would be 30”. And what pitch might prove suitable? Many thanks...

Peter, potentially you could be looking at a 28x10 or 30x10 . However just a pointer I know there are guys in the Dawn Patrol that have Zenoah 38's fitted with a reduction drive that fly their 1/3 scale Sopwith Pup's and they fly well. As for me my 1/3 scale Fokker DVII I used to fly was fitted with a Zenoah 62, Torquemaster reduction drive swinging a 30x10 prop.
I thought I would just give you some parameters.
Cary
