Flypast

Postby Steve Ogden » January 23rd, 2019, 9:02 am

I have been following a news story on the BBC about a flypast taking place to commemorate the unfortunate demise of a B-17 aircrew early in 1944 at a Sheffield park. To expand a little an elderly gent has been looking after a memorial to the crew all his life as he was playing in the park when the aircraft crashed. The USAAF as stepped in and have offered to perform a flypast weather depending. Would it not be a great idea to have several large B-17 models attend either statically or to fly. This will be covered by the BBC and could help raise our profile and maybe promote our shows as well. What do you think ?

Contact Dan Walker on BBC Breakfast- it was all his idea. He met the guy while walking his dog and was fascinated with the story, he has organised it all.

It is a shame. Lots of folk waiting for the flypast this morning. again they have missed a trick, as the Sally B would have been an amazing sight.
