Bloody hell Ian. I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you get all the contents back.

Its likely they'll have only been after the van, so the contents may be dumped. Van thefts are increasing at the moment across the country. They'll be lying low for a few days in case the van has a tracker on it, probably in a remote farm or a garage block somewhere and then the van will either be cloned or stripped.

In terms of the most important things, the models, its anyones guess.

I hope you find the models Ian. Scouring country lanes to look in gateways for the planes might be in order. Being in Warwickshire, I can't help but I would if I could.
Chris

Makes my blood boil. Sorry to hear about that, Transit parts are stolen and shipped abroad in containers, its big business. Hopefully the models will be found dumped.

I am so sorry to read this. I've just been looking at ebay entries, and it's possible to filter search results that are "pre-owned". I believe it's the case that it's not uncommon that when stolen vehicles are sold, they're sold as "collection only", but there's no actual link between the address and the seller. So trawling through ebay entries that are both "pre-owned" and "collection only" might be worthwhile. I'd also look for sellers with very few transactions, as it's likely they'd make an account purely for selling stolen items. It's also likely that the sale would be unusually generic, so selling a "biplane" rather than "Tiger Moth".

Not being au-fait with the models you've lost, I'm sorry I can't be of more help, but perhaps if you reduced the list to the most distinct and unique items, especially if you can post some pictures here of the aircraft for comparison, perhaps we could form a rota of volunteers to hunt-online for these items for a few weeks?

I would like to thank everybody who has been in contact with me since my van was stolen. Although there has been no news of the van or planes, the generosity you all have shown has been overwhelming and very much appreciated at this distressing time. Due to all your help I will be up and flying much sooner than I thought. See you all at the shows
Regards Ian

Its worth fitting a hidden switch or link somewhere to the electric fuel pump, something like an XT60 that can be pulled out in the same way as removing the rotor arm from a petrol distributor.

I used to have a van with an isolator and a keypad requiring 4 numbers in the correct order, it was done in a way that even trying to hotwire would not work. I fail to see why modern vehicles dont have something similar. As for a switch for the petrol pump, my circa 1968 Morris Minor had one under the dash. It would drive a hundred yards or so on the fuel in it then stop. Very effective. We seem to have gone backwards.
