Flyer ID

Postby David Bell » February 13th, 2020, 3:09 pm

Just got my operator ID. Thanks lma.
Was under the impression having proficiency I would not have to do the online test. Wrong we will all have to do it from June onwards. Not what i understood that was going to happen. I understood that having proficiency we were not required to do the test.
Now I need to go online to get my test done and get flyer ID.

Out of interest, (I have a B and proficiency) I took the test. It is pathetically simple.

Bob.
I phone the CAA after receiving my OP I'd.
You have to do the test to get your year ID. The exemptions we have last until june but after june you will only be legal to fly if you do the test online.
It's simple, do the test now and be legal.

The current regulations are due to change at the end of June when the EASA regulations come into force.
I understand the LMA and BMFA are in discussion with CAA about the next set of requirements.

here we go again. They will have their own test, their own database and make up their own fees. I feel like we have been scammed.

I think it's all because it's new and no one association has got things perfect (I am not knocking anyone). Just a case of learning as we go along.

Alan Cantwell.
It's up to you, I did it today. But things could change in june. I have done it so i am legal. If you carry your exemptions with you , you are still legal.

So if I carry my membership card with my proficiency recorded on it, all is well, that’ll do, it’s not as if we are going to get the local bobbies down the field, EVER!

No that is not correct. After June we will be flying under an 'Article 16' operating authorisation that will also cover remote pilot competency. That will not include everyone having to do the CAA online test.

The last issue of the LMA Journal, pages 10-12 has a go at explaining what we all have to do to comply with all of this.
LMA Secretary - I've got a reasonable idea where you live!
