Modellers, doing there bit,

Postby Alan Cantwell 1131 » April 4th, 2020, 11:07 pm

Can we help? Modellers, doing some hardcore work for our front line workers, we spend hundreds of pounds a year on our models, what’s a few quid? https://www.gofundme.com/f/f6f33s-1000? ... V_DOzduoqQ

Yes, absolutely Alan. Team Renegade, and the Freestyle guys, some of the nicest people I know, are putting their expertise in to 3d printing full face shields for hospitals. Please please help out, They are funding it all themselves but need more.

Several of our club members who have 3d printers are making face masks for our local hospice. One of them is a technology teacher, he has got his school's printers in use as well.
Great effort by everyone, cottage industry is alive and well.

Brilliant that Dave, Well, the target of £1000 was soon smashed, now onits way to £2000, and the units are going out as fast as they are produced, I feel very proud of these young guys, and so should you be, I hope you are,

There has in the past been moans and groans about the younger guys in model flying, but these lads have stepped up to the mark and are flat out producing these face masks for the NHS and doctors etc. Give us more details please David Berry, I like to try to promote these things on social media. As you say, Alan, very proud of them.

It is indeed true us youngsters* are the future of the LMA & model flying in general. One day our time will come, one day.

Anyway, I've got my printer running continuously churning out masks, all mine are going here https://www.3dcrowd.uk/ all donations welcome!

Well done Rob! I think the LMA should sponsor you, do you know anyone on the committee?

well done Rob. I wasnt saying it was all youngsters, just the ones I know personally. It seems there is a massive effort going on with these masks. We all appreciate it!
