Me 109G Buchon

I had a run around day yesterday to & from hospital for a friend so it was hard to get into any real work so I took advantage of being near a printer's I use and had my Me 109 plans blown up to 1/3.5 scale at 102.5" long for the fuselage giving a 112" span. My aim is to use my twin zenoah in this as with the P-40. Because the wife was out all day I com-endeared the kitchen floor to start the re-drawing of the front while I was waiting for the call to pick up from the hospital. I have been working from several 3 view drawings & photo's of both the Buchon & the 109G and all are different when scaled up, also the wings all come out over span on all of them when you scale the fuselage to length. The original plans that I am using for the basic outline also has oversize wings for its scale, any thoughts on this ? The difference in length is basically the change in spinner profile when the Hispano or Merlin engine's were retro fitted otherwise they are both the same aircraft.

dave.,.I have a 3rd scale all built airframe bf109G .,.,.,it needs a firewall plus fitting out for flight,,thinking out loud here .,but if its any good to you id be happy to sell it once ive had the fuselage moulded.,.,,dave Clarke knows the model quite well,,.& if you wanted a look at it I could take it to his before xmas.,.,.,this would be an easy conversion into a Spanish built variant.,.,

Hi Rob, I have had a word with Dave, my big problem with going to 1/3 is the length of the fuselage, at that scale it would not fit in the van. I appreciate the offer, it would of saved a lot of build time. Was this plane at the Nationals a few years back.

hello dave.,not sure on its history,.,its very nice though ignoring its current colour sheme!!.,,I will add some pics when its in sealer ready for the mould to be taken.,.,,once its moulded dave Clarke & I will be offering it as a kit in either F.,G, K VARIANTS.,,,.,.,totaly understand on the van issues .,,.,.We were chatting about retracts & the use of your twin 62 for the 3rd scale planes .,.,.,.,by the ay the p40 is looking great.,,..,nice at quarter scale.,.,,.
if anyone is interested in a glass fuselage for either the 109 or spit in 3rd sale let me or dave Clarke know as the spitfire is ready for the 1st one which is going straight to dave Clarke & I think ive an order for a second,,.,.be nice to see a few of these bigger fighters in the air,.,.,

Started to assemble the fuselage, dry fitting at this stage to prove the former's. I have a couple that have needed tweaking on the profile but all in all its worked out well. I have decided to do a mold for the cowl, I have never done it before so any tips would be gratefully received.

A bit more done today with the help of John Shorthouse, tail feathers next so I can finish off the back end.
