It's being finishes as Mk.1a 'AR213'........still flying and current based at Booker. Modelling a 'current' example makes the producing the documentation for statc judging a whole lot easier as opposed to modelling a 'wartime' example where details on colour etc... can be rather sketchy.

Phil,

As usual another stunner in the making! Are there no ends to your talents?

With all those speakers, you could do DJ'ing on a Saturday Night?

Lovely Spitfire Phil. Is Jerry Nelson still supplying parts? I have emailed him several times regarding an order i placed and paid for last year (March) which still haven't turned up.

No idea.......the hinge I got was purchased several years back and has been sitting in my bits box looking for a good home. Not aware of any supply issues, so can't help....sorry.

More good progress on the Spit over the last few weeks. All servos and wiring are in, as are the Rx's, switches and batteries. The full '3 speaker' sound system has been run (out of the model......& sound great) and we're about 50% done on it's install. Flaps are now permanantly fitted...including the functional 'gull-wing' inboard section which has proved a bit of a chew on!!! Ailerons to follow in the bext few days.

Hacker have agreed to switch the 200/6 motor for the newer 200/8 motor....this should sole our excessive current draw issues and allow us to run the full 14s cell set-up on the 32" three blade solo prop without frying the ESC.

More internal detail is now well on.....all fuselage bulkheads visible through the cockpit are complete and ready to be installed, the door is finshed (and fully fnnctional!!), and the rudder pedal and gunsight assemblies are all under construction.................

Sound system now fully installed...............

3 x 4" dia 'Visaton' speakers run via a Thomas Benedini 'Mini TSB' soundcard & 3 x 40W power amps off a 4s 4,500Mah Lipo. Test are showing 1 speaker is prducing around 101dB at 1m, so with 3, we hope to be between 105 and 106dB range. The 2 speakers in the centre section use the forward fuselage as a sound box, and also have mesh 'grills' in the underside of the wing. The 3rd speakers is mounted inside the large underside wing radiator, with the other 2 power amps inside the oil cooler rad.
