This winters build taking shape,a Belair short kit Ziroli P40. Not a massive airplane but very "like-able"... ZDZ 80rvj for power and Robart retracts.

With winter moving closer I have started to do refurbish my old trusty Black Horse Corsair. I acquired this from Tony Hooper a few years ago and to say its been flown to death would be an understatement. After a near miss earlier this year when an engine cut on landing I damaged one wing a bit, I thought, but on stripping it back found more damage than I bargained for. On top of that I had replaced the original retracts with none rotating units to keep me flying and keep it simple, but having been asked for some Twist & turns by a customer I checked if the Ziroli size units I had on stock would fit. Hey presto Yes, with a little mod here and there they fit a dream with all of the rotating mechanism below the skins. I have uprated the spars and fully sheeted the wing during the repair. I will fully sheet the top of the wing also and carry out the mods on the other panel. I intend to glass the airframe and paint it in the Gray Navy scheme

Very unlikely duo...but both very enjoyable, D Clarkes 1/3 scale DR1 and the trusty tiffie at today's outing.
