Ah yes, forgot to mention that. Mr Bones came over with his trusty scales to do the weighing, she cruised in at a slinky 42lbs, should be less as I can lose some of the lead it was weighed with.

Thats good, if the person that built the wings got the washout right should be fine.

Tomorrow I will down tools on this project for the final time, just the gear doors to fit and a final c of g check. Unfortunately before it flies the u/c will have to be removed and sent back to Mick Reeves so it can be made to work properly as at the moment both legs go up fine and lock but only the port one comes down. The starboard gear only comes down if you push it up slightly first, or remove the wheel, then it works everytime.

It wasn't the best of days for pictures, all that lovely sunshine. With the bright sun and cars parked everywhere I couldn't quite get the pictures I wanted but these will do. I'm pleased with the finished model, Bonzey cleary worshipped it though

To see why Bonezy worshipped it you'll have to wait till monday as some of our pictures resized and some wouldn't despite the Amo's best efforts. Well the other pics give you an idea, it looks like a Spitfire

Thanks to Dave Parry I have a couple more of the finished machine.
Bonzey forgot his prayer mat, no doubt this picture could start a silly caption contest, yes I've seen the Tiffie thread.

Sadly this aircraft has still not flown and this is due to one thing, the completely Sh@T retracts from Mick Reeves. They were sent back to MR who said they work fine, which I think translates to, I can't be bothered nor know how to sort out these rubbish items. Likewise he couldn't give a rats ar@@ the cowl was total rubbish too, it didn't fit together properly and was full of pin holes. By the way I gave him the opportunity to correct both items before making this post. So if you are thinking of buying anything from Mick Reeves models, don't expect a quality product, don't expect good customer service either and prepare to be dissapointed.
Whilst I'm on my soap box, it's about time more of the aeromodelling rubbish that gets sold to us on a daily basis should be named and shamed, why is it aeromodelling products are the only thing you will not return for being un-fit for purpose? you wouldn't accept it with any other product you buy. Apart from some of Mick Reeves products being un-fit for purpose I could name plenty of others too.
Think what I've said is unfair or un-professional? email me, stewart@fighterfactoryuk.com
