I wanted to build a glass canopy frame so I went ahead. Put three coats of PVA on the canopy outside and two on the inside. I do like to PVA all my glass pieces before I even work with them, just to protect them.
After the PVA had dried I glassed the frame, marked the rough location of the frame and let it cure. Popped it off and cleaned up the loose fibers before I cut myself, as they are sharpe. Now the fun begins to remove the glass to the canopy frame.

Marked the rough location of the frame on the 2 oz cloth
Cut the major pieces out of the frame this evening. I will wait for nicer weather to do the final cleaning and sanding so I can do it outside, the dust is best left outside Happy so far, the effect will look good when completed.
Spent more time on the cockpit frame, about an hour with my dremel, followed by a couple hours with a file. Almost got it, put my 219 pilot inside to have a look. Still needs more TLC with filling shaping and sanding to have a proper fit to the fuselage. I plan on making it removable so I can detail the inside of the cockpit.
More progress since my last post. Working on more frames for the turrets out of fiberglass. The fuselage has been glassed. It does need to be sanded down with 80 grit, then down to 220. Some small things but they all take time.
It's been a while since I have posted anything, close to 9 months in fact. Where does the time go. Wings are built, just finishing up the bottom sheeting. Flaps are done, ailerons are done, will try and post a picture.
Both wings constructed, I glassed the tops of the wings before I flipped it over to work on the other coronets of the wing. Besides I did not want to spend hours filling dents in the balsa.
Underside pictures. The wiring for the flaps and ailerons easily passes through the wing. Another advantage of a four piece wing. Throttle servo wires will travel through a tube, inserted between the engine mount to the root of the wing.
