An amazing build Karl, best wishes for the test flights and don't forget to have someone there with a video, it's going to look brilliant.

Hi Karl,
Saw this in the flesh at Gaydon yesterday. Congratulations mate, amazing build in such a short time and an outstanding example of 'shedology'
Now that I've seen it, I predict that it will be a tad overpowered with 4 x 38's. It looks like a great big lumpy glider!
regards

MAIDEN FLIGHT!

Postby Karl mander » November 5th, 2014, 8:05 pm

Maiden flight yesterday!

two flights conducted, she flies great. After all the warnings about the anhedral and the difficulties with orientation, none of these problems materialised. She's responsive to the ailerons and didn't fall out of the sky when being banked over.
She flew hands off with a few clicks of trim, the only issue being the flare up when flaps are applied and the lower part of the front nose leg came loose before the first landing.

Below is the link to the video.

Karl,
Fantastic job, been following this build thread with interest. Those landings were greasers!
You just need to build the typhoon escorts now!

Well done.

Your to be congratulated, she does look superb in the air, But i doubt a pair of tiffys would keep up, doesn't half shift!

Great Karl, its amazing John & I missed you yesterday. We went to mow the field ready for Sunday and both of us were wondering where the weird wheel tracks had come from, now we know. The Bear certainly covers the sky, well done Karl looking forward to seeing it fly in the flesh so to speak.

Gends, thanks for your comments (Stu k thanks for your previous posts)

If I can get through the test flights over the winter I'll take her to East Kirby.
Anyway its time to start the next project.

Well done Karl that's quite something - now all you need is an 'artic' to cart em around
Cheers Pete
