The Lancaster seems to be drinking money, it has been a very expensive project and im sill not done....

Morning Rob---pics looking good,i can remember my Lanc in that stage of build---a couple of things that stand out that will give you problems later[from experience with mine[,the angle of the retract legs need a packing piece to angle forward a touch---and the engine bulkheads need cutting out at the bottom to create a cooling duct thro the bottom of the tank area---both easy fix,but need doing ,other than that i think you are finally on the winning side

Den--you shoudnt have time to go out drinking whilst you have that Lanc in the shed half built its about time you posted some piccies.It would be good to get a few of the new lancs over to East Kirkby next year.whether finished or not,they would be good alongside Just Jane for a photo shoot !!!

Dave I dont go out drinking this time of the year. It is the sprout picking season. We start at 5 am until 9 at night picking sprouts. Sometimes we can earn as much as £80 pound a week. Not bad for round here

Hello all and happy New year!!

This project has now been running for over 12 months, not good

I will be honest and say with such a big project on my own i have lost the buzz, need a kick up the backside!!

I have more or less everything to finish the model to a flyable state! engines spinners, retracts, servos and so on...

Will try and get back into it and finish it for the summer!

Watch this space!!

Keep going with it Rob . I know how you feel nearly had a bonfire with mine today, it fills the shed cant move for the damn thing cant see an end to it apart from a bonfire party

Lancasters legs don't end up at 90 degrees when down(on fullsize), are you putting them forward because you didn't know that or is it because they get pushed backwards on landing if in the scale position. I don't mean that to sound funny, just curious.
Great model Rob, keep at it and if work gets in the way it's easily solved by handing in your notice and telling them your off to have a life.

The retracts lean backwards on the model, i am going to make them lean slightly forward so that on landing the weight of the model will go up the retract and into the main spar on the wing.

Think that's about it.

Do you know what the pitch angle is on landing as many of these i watched at the shows are landing slightly nose up anyway, which put the gear at the correct angle. I would suspect that the scale leg angle is to match the scale landing pitch.
