Hello all just thought i would post my latest project,it's built from my own plans not exact scale but i think very convincing. It spans 94" powered by a Zenoah 62.I started drawing the plans about 2 months ago which took a couple of weeks and it took 6 weeks to build the model. The aim of the project was an easy to build, easy to assemble and easy to fly model. As of today all three have come to fruition and it is an absolute dream to fly.It is all convetional structure covered in solartex and painted with cellulose paint, the engine proved to be more than ample easily flying round on 1/4 throttle but it is only 26.5 lb.Next one is a 1/3 scale SE5A plans are nearly complete but other commitments mean i can't get started on the build for a few months,i'll keep you posted.Cheers,Dave.

I have some vid of the articulated pilot, rudder pedals and control coloumn, which I will upload over the weekend, very nice....

The pics I have taken don't really do her justice, shes a stunner. Obviously I witnessed the rigging and maiden flight, she was assembled and flying in less than 15 mins. Not really a ww1 type fella, but seeing this has altered my thoughts..

Hello Alan, the whole point of the project was ease of build and operation, the scale outline insn't that far away from scale, the wing section is totally none scale hence the superb flying qualities, but on a slow low flyby with the pilots scarf flapping in the breeze who cares.

Hello all, heres a couple of videos taken today a bit shakey in placec but watchable.I managed 7 flights what breeze there was was across the field so taking off and landing cross wind and it coped with it very well, inverted flight is amazingly hand off rolls loops spins all superb.

Be patient Alan, going to make a few mods, No1 smaller ailerons the ones that are on it are slightly oversize and are really powerfull,i am also going to make a more scale like uc with a slightly wider track and maybe suspention. As you know it all takes time.
Eventually i would like to manufacture full kit's,but it's very early days yet.
Cheers,Dave.

Well Done Dave, I see a good build article for the LMA Journal there, none of the Dawn Patrol has submitted anything on this era despite me asking which is a shame, but there you go.

Hello, just a quick update as stated before the model flyes superb but it was hard work as soon as the wheels touched the deck.I got the scale drawing out and found that i had not mesured something quite right as the track was 3" too narrow,so i have made a new undercarriage with bunjee suspention, also making some new ailerons as the originals were very powerfull and a bit on the heavy side.Cheers,Dave.
