MIESTER CORSAIR PROJECT.

Hi,im about to start a full make over of a very well known Miester Corsair. Yes its Ken Bones old girl, and a happy guy I am.
The Plan--- The fuselage and middle wing section will be stripped ,repaired and re-glassed using lightweight glass cloth and ZPOXY.
Mains and tailwheel doors will be produced and fitted. The cowl needs a good sort out with some detail applied.
The retracts will be remooved and refurbed with the help of Alec and Alan Griffiths..(CESTRIAN)
Help? I like to do a little research before i start this project. I could do with a good 3 view drawing showing HATCHES,PANEL LINES and FULL RIVET DETAIL.
Which colour scheme?? Can anyone recommend a tasty colour scheme that will do this warbird JUSTICE?
How many flights has the corsair had? (approx) What year did Ken build and test fly her? What location was the test flight??? Any early pictures would be good.
Any help on these many questions greatly appreciated. Regards Ozy

As Ken is still unable access this forum(Mr Parry can you help him or is he beyond it?) I 'll add a comment on his behalf. He built it in 1964 and it's had more owners than you've had hot meals
joking aside it has been around for a while (an was already Marines Dream) and has had about 5 owners, I think Ian Redshaw and Dickie Scarborough being 2 of them. Very proven model which will no doubt serve you well in it's new guise. Look forward to seeing it.

A few of us had the chance to see Ozys handi work last weekend at East Kirkby.
I must say that Ozy has done a smashing job of the make over on my old Corsair. Well done mate.
Now get some piccys up so everyone else can see it.

Hello Ken,im glad a few folks like the refurb..The original build was pretty solid so the major work was designing and installing the flaps which seem to work well.
Also the sliding canopy was lithoplated which tested my patience. The all up weight is 37lbs wet.The old unitracts well given a full service and now hold air for weeks!!! I need help to add some pictures to this forum. Thanks for your interest Ozy

Ozy if you have paintbrush on your pc then reopen the pictures in that and just reduce the size by 40%. Alternatively get your children to do it for you.
