1/3 Scale Fokker D.V11

Been busy again decided to have a go at a 1/3 scale D.V11,i was qiute shocked at the size of it once drawn 118"span and almost 100" long, one of the criteria was to make the tail removable which i have achived. The motor is going to be a Zenoah 62 with the MR Torque master with a fema onboard starter. The wing's are slightly more complicated due to the taper in the wing, the chord is constant but the thickness tapers quite a chalenge to draw the ribs .Construction is conventional balsa and ply trying to keep it under 20kg,all wing panels plug in on ali tubes.I have not deviated from the scale outline or wing section so it is exact scale, heres a few pictures will keep updating as i progress.Dave.

Got a few hours in the workshop today, finished basic structure of the top wing just waiting for some brass tube to arrive so i can build the ailerons.Going to build them from balsa dowel for LE the rest will be conventional structure with scale hinges from brass tube and brass sheet, weight as it is in the pictures is 3.5 kg so well on track to be under 20kg.
Cheers Dave.

Slow progress at the moment with christmas etc, trying something different for aileron conrol.I didn't want any hatches on the underside of the wing,so i have gone with a closed loop system,i have attached the servo to the face of the root rib to give access to the clevices for any adjustment.Rather than use pulleys i have used brass tube to direct the cables,it is really smooth, positive and slop free,i was going to use scale hinges but i have decided to use robart hinges instead, just being lazy but it works really well.Merry christmas Dave. :D

Just out of interest on our Balsa USA ones in DP with the 62 and Torquemaster we all found the 30x10 suited the airframe better than the 28x12.
