Hi guys,..,heres my 115" seafury which dave clarke has been kind enough to go through for me as i dont have time for such a big project,.,,.,.,.is there a cockpit kit available for these??,..,.,,.i may end up painting this as the FB11 that spencer flak had,,.G FURY all over red with the white & blue go faster stripe!! .,., i did want 114 the mig killer but seeing as mr trevor wood has that scheme so well coverd with his stunning seafury i think its not fair to do the same scheme,.,.,.so maybe TF956 the ex RNHF machine that john beatie had to bail out of when one gear locked up & the other locked down due to a massive hydraulic leak within the undercarrige system.,,,.,.some time back i had a centry jet one which i did all over silver with a simple yellow "P" in a circle on the fuss,.,,.less is more kind of scheme to replicate a prototype or test aircraft,.,..,it looked amazing in silver,.,.,.i beleve the model is still flying.,.,.

Its not flying at the moment. A very good friend of mine now owns it.

It needs a couple of little bits and pieces doing to it and then it needs flying.

"We" have just joined another club which has a superb strip which the Sea Fury will fly off as our club strip is a bit small.

Want some pictures???

Been doing some bits n bobs on my 115 inch seafury,,,im going to mark it up as TF956 which wasflown for many years withthe ROYAL NAVY HISTORIC FLIGHT,,,,, anyway finally its now got a canopy after the 5 yrs ive known & owned this airframe,,,, twice! !, part of my scratch built cockpit is in with part headrest ect,,, just waiting on some parts from aerocockpit to finish it off completely, ,, next I will cut the canopy in two & permanently fix the front section,,,,,the masking tape is purley to give me an idear of the seafurys canopy frame shape as the one im using doesnt have much detail to go from,,, the back will slide,,,, anyone got any pics of how they did theirs,,, always nice to have few few differnt idears to think about,,,,
Rob,,,

Had a bit more time on the fury,,, mostly making a pilot out of several differnt ones in the parts box,,,, ive also included some pics of the RNHF in the late 1980s from a dvd I have purley on the pair of sea furys operated by them during that period,,, as most seafury nuts will know their FB11 TF956 was lost when john beatie had a hydraulic leak leaving one gear up & one down,,,,, bailing out the aircraft it crashed in the sea off prestwick,,,TF956 was a true Korean war vet,,, plus the first production FB11,, not long after that they lost their T20 when a con rod broke on the front row of cylinders,,in the emergency landing,, it , landed normally in a field but the T20 with locked tail wheel followed a slight slope in the ground & smashed in between the only pair of trees within 150 acres!,,,, anyway the navy deemed it beyond repair & it was sold on,,,, after a few owners it went to saunders in the states & was rebuilt,,,,,, now with the fighter collection at Duxford, ,,,,, eagle eye seafury fans will notice that it now has a retractable tail wheel which no T20s had,, plus the modern main wheels with the cleavland brake system,, discs rather than the original bag sysytem,,,, similar to drums,,, also its got totaly modern cockpits,,,,, ive read many questions wondering how much of the ex RNHF machine is actually in the resto,,,,!,,RNHF now have their old spares sorce VR930 which was used to keep TF956 aloft,,, VR930 was then restored by BAE when 956 was lost,,,john beatie is still flying a fleet air arm fighter,, the seafire from kennet aviation out of north weald,,,,,, ive met him a few times,,realy nice guy,,,,,,,a few pics from the dvd,,,,
great youtube vid of argonault fitted with a pratt & whitney corn cob,,, turn the volume up,,,,

Amazing pictures of 910, I got to spend a lot of time on that T20 when she returned from the states to join TFC. They've done a cracking job on it, think it won grand champion at Oshkosh before it came back.

Its a great video they sold back in the late 1980s,,, i had it converted to dvd ,,,,theres film of TF956 doing touch & goes trying to break the down lock on the port gear,,, then you see it hitting the water at high speed,,,,with john beatie comming down shortly afterwards by parachute, ,,

Hi Rob,

No radial, a Z62 for motive power now. (Assuming its the same model of course).

Its in my workshop for setting up and fettling before it gets flown as the owner just hasn't had the time.

Need to get the tail wheel retract mechanism sorted as well.

Hopefully won't take to long.
