Some time ago I put a wanted on the for sale section for a 109 I use to own,,,,I heard nothing & forgot all about it,,,, then a few months later I poped a call to kingfisher aviation regarding a ziroli p51 ,,,,, but I was told they only had a old tatty 109,,what they beleved to be a meister,,,,which turned out to be my old one,,,,a deal was done & I took it to dave clarke & he was kind enough to go through the complete airframe doing all the repairs & almost totally rebuilding the front of the wing,,, installing my da85 ,, making a new rudder,,, adding some servo hatches & generally doing everything needed to make it a flyer again,,,once it was ready to come home I could turn it into a F7 also i could then fit a cockpit & a more scale canopy as the one on it was a joke,,,,,& add some suface detail then repaint it in the star of afrikas markings,,,,HANS JOACHIM MARSEILLE....he had twelve 109s issued to him so this model would be one of the last F variants he had before the G variants he flew,,,, getiing over 100 victories in the 109,,,,,, on collecting a newly issued G gustav he had engine probs & elected to bail out ,, hitting the tail he was either knocked out or hit in the chest area & he never opened the parachute falling to his death,,
BIG THANKS TO DAVE CLARKE FOR ALL HIS HELP & SKILL SORTING THE MANY PROBLEMS OUT.

It was one of the two that Fighter factory put together . He built the airframe for me more or less upto the covering stage. Still needed a lot of work to get it 109 shape though what with all the usual 109 lumps and bumps etc..
What power plant you using Rob?
Ken.

Ken,,, its a da85......it flew a 41 lb mustang with ease,,,, so im sure it will haul this 109 around ok,,,, although I use to fly this particular 109 on a 62,,,,,,,,, only down side is the motor poking out,,,,,, only way round that is electric,,,,,,, I did see yours on your face book through a mutual frend martin blysby the aviation artist,,,,, I must admit it looks superb.......you just need a early MK spit to chase it about with now,,,,

Funny you say about the early Mk Spit, I have spoken to Mike Booth about converting my Mk 9 to a Mk 1 or 5.
My 109 E is having 3w70 fitted.

Looks nice,,,, what scheme will it be,,,,,, there was some awsome ones on the later G & K variants, ,, the longer tail wheel on the later ones was a big help to the novice pilots,,,, some having only had maybe two or three hours in a 109 before going on combat duty in the later months of the war.....

Lovely work gents .
There has been a lack of 109s for a while.
Kens model looks superb and he has embellished the entire airframe with great detail.
I'm sure he will take the finished airframe to Gaydon .
It really is worth a look.

Great idea Richard, can't wait mate.
Mine is about done now with just the rx to fit and to set up the radio.. Come out at 35.5 lb all up, so happy with that.
Will be at Gaydon on Sunday for the first roll out since it has been finished.
Ken.
