This is not such a new project but a slow build over about 2 years, I had it ready to fly (in primer) a while back but due to it being blown off its trestles & wrecking the cowl etc along with damage to the Moki 150 I lost interest. I am now back on with it with some help & enthusiasm from fellow club members. I have just finished refitting the cowl mount plate & engine module along with the cowl flaps. Its just the sliding cockpit (another mod) to finish then it will be again ready to test fly.
Well after two years on this build she has finally flown. I had a few teething problems and a change in balance but it all came right in the end. The Moki 150 ran faultlessly with the best sound track out both slow & flat out. I managed 4 of the 6 test flights with only a service on the engine after the third flight. I want to try the 3 blade prop on the next flights. Flaps needed down elevator mixing in and they made all the difference to the landings. All up flying weight is 52lb, radio is Weatronic dual receiver. Steve took some video of its flights so I will post on utube when I sort them out.
Well done Dave. I best get my Zero out again for next year then. Did you not have the latest build instructions for it though as they say about the need for a down mix with flaps.
Due to the good weather I have had chance to paint the Zero at last, just the cowl and gear doors to do now. Its the first time I have done flush rivets and I am pleased with the effect.
