calcutta flying boat

I have acquired a large Calcutta flying been around for a long time by the look of it don't know of any history for the model like who built it and when perhaps someone out there may know of it cant have been many of these around the size is 12' wing span and had a single wheel fitted in fuz,
she is a huge plane would like to refurbish and get it flying again
can any one out there help ill get some pics done when weather improves then try to post on here

yes ive seen then looking for info on who may have made this model I have and if pos some info on it pics motors fitted how it flew ect?

Could it have been Jeremy Shaw's. I recall way back that he built a Calcutta of about that size ?

Roger Bale also built one,i had it here for a while,can't remember what span it was though.

Is your boat a twin ir a triple engine, engines mounted between the wings? The single wheel in the hull bottom reminds me of one I saw at Cosford, parentage Roger Bale?

The one i had here had 3 engines and a wheel in the hull.

this one had the wheel in the hull and metal skids in the floats yes three engines the I just had the airframe only fuz is covered in cardboard

Hello Grahame,made a call this morning,did you buy it from Nat Barkwill ? did you buy a Sunderland at the same time ?.
If so then the Calcutta was built by Roger Bale,had some pictures somewhere but cant find them,if i do i will post them on here.

no the size looks right but has different undercarriage
yes we did have the sunderland the same time

The uc in the picture was a drop off dolly he probably didn't give you that bit,the model in the picture is the one that nat barkwill bought from me.I spoke to him last week and he sold it along with the sunderland.

she is looking a bit tidier now ill do pics in next couple of days probably on our lake .
ok thanks were did the elevator servos go were they fitted in tailplane ?
