Colin

It came out under the 20 @ 19.5.

I had it at the club two weeks ago for range check/engine run etc and found an issue with one of the elevator servos (expensive, well known brand)

Since then iv'e swapped those out for servos that work and next time the weather plays ball i think it'll be in the air.

So happy the cooling system works with no holes in the cowl :D

If you want i can shout you before i head down? probably next Sunday.

Hope to get a maiden video,i'll provide the cam if you know decent man for the job :D

Rob.. yes I will be there if you are going down on Sunday.. Will get Gerry and Pheilm (he can buy lunch! LOL)
Just watch the voltage on the servo / RX side of things.
Confirm you are heading and I will show my face.
Cheers.

Great!

Aye,all HV servos running on life.

Put two new ones in and they seem great.

I'll give you a shout if it's a goer.

Maiden Success!

No problems bar a bit of throttle sag on takeoff and and approach so fast i felt it was gonna travel back in time(can't be too careful with a C wing Spit) i say.

Here's the video. Not the best but it's all i have.

Never had it above quarter throttle, 19.3kg weight and had to add down trim only(could do with more weight up front)

VIDEO!

Cheers!

Glad you liked it Colin!

I want to make a few more adjustments to CG then try to get the engine running well before i get it painted, hopefully before next season starts.

I hope to get at least one season of fun for my efforts hahaha.

It fly's like a dream though contrary to all the whining that goes on about Micks kits, maybe just a bit more work than i expected.

Well done Rob
Good to see the spitfire has flown.
I followed the build from your first post with great interest, as I had just started building my own spitfire from the Brian Taylor plan.in fact I copied your aileron drive system with great success ,so much better than looking at control horns.
Thanks for all the info shown in your posts they were all of interest ,you are a true crafts man.
Like you i test flew my model unpaintd ,and being aware of spitfires and cg positions i was very carefull with the amount of paint used, it still took 6ozs of lead in the noise to get the cg back to the original position.
Regards
Arthur
