I am building a BT 83" spitfire mk viii. I like the colour scheme above on this mkvii.(both have the retracting tail wheel) I think its SKY on top and PRU BLUE under. I have a compressor/tank from my car spraying days keeping the rust at bay. Where could I get the paint and masks to do this? . I know PB is for Pete Brothers when he flew from the Orkneys over Scapa Flow.

Nice to see a MkVII Colin.
Colours are Standard High Altitude Finish for Day Fighters "PRU Blue" undersurfaces, with Medium Sea Grey (or, if you prefer, "Sea Grey, Medium") top surfaces. No roundels on wing lower surfaces. 24-inch square Fin flash, 30-inch type B Fuselage Roundel with 12-inch Red. Upper wing Roundels Type B 40-inch with 16-inch Red. Code letters 24-inch, in "Sky Grey". Serial Numbers and Letters 8-inch tall in "Night". Did "PB" have standard or extended wingtips? There is an extra intake under the Stbd exhausts on Mk VII.
Dont know about masks, never used them, but colours try Klass Kote from Phil at Fighter Aces.

Car paint sounds good as there will be a good choice of colour and I assume there all acrilic making them safe to use.
Pete brothers started with the pointed wing tips to fly as high as they could to counter a threat which didn't materialise. So they removed them to make for better handling, quicker rolls. In the photo main colour looks pale green, called sky which was why I liked it, I don't like the idea of grey.

Just got my exhaust silver soldered for the spitfire, still got two more non functional outlets to make for each side. When heated to cherry red it leaves a great colour /texture to the exhaust stubs

Update on paint , I got the last warbirds paint from Phil, hope I'll have enough. Car paint didn't have the colour wanted.
I noticed Mick Reeves has started selling epoxy paint in warbird colours at a good price.
