Fuselage Step 23

Parts F11 and F12 glued in place at the rear of the fuselage, the origional parts F11 and F12 I did not use because they were a little on the short side and the angle that they are glued in, made 2 new parts F11 and F12 from scrap material.

Fuselage Step 25

Part H2 glued in place, part H1 trimmed to fit snug with both sides of the fuselage, the top of part H1 still needs to be trimmed, but this will be done once the wing is complete and a dry test fit has been done.

Fuselage Step 26

The photo below is the plan view of the tailwheel unit.
Image

The part was then placed over the plan as you can see, towards the top you can see the swg is bent at a 90 degree angle it's approx 6mm to 7mm too short, and because where the 90 bend is the end of the swg is very close to the bottom of the fuselage, towards the bottom looks like this area is too long where you would place the tailwheel.
Image

This is a dry test fit so you can see more clearly the picture.
Image

Question, do I see if I can get this part again from Slec, or make another one from scratch making sure it's the correct size.

The new one would prob be the same, bend the 90 degree bend parallel with the bottom of the rudder, glue some brass tube into the rudder to take the piano wire, have the wire free running into this tube, Your work is very neat, looks great, bet your enjoying yourself!

Hi Alan,
That's what I was thinking bending the 90 degree bend parallel with the rudder, will do what you have suggested gluing a brass tube into the rudder.

Now that the tailplane, elevator, fin and rudder are complete and have done a dry test fit, a little more sanding is needed, starting to see how big this model is.

Yes, it's a joy to build this kit, I already have 1 or 2 ideas for my next build, but will finish this kit first.

Thank you.

Geoff----glad you are enjoying your 120 build---here are a couple of pics from yesterday---this is the original 120 kit suplied to the LMA by Slec for a test build----4 of us built it in my workshop over 2 nights---its had a hard life opening the trainer slot at shows for many years---then spending a few years at waterplane events with some Cub floats on---and now reborn as the new PC Plod and test flown yesterday----getting a bit overweight now----but if you keep the finishing light you will find it a joy to fly
