So update on build unfortunately been poorly after pelvic operation in October so not much done.

So great big thanks to John Veasey who has helped me out doing the glassing and putting a few things right.
All rubbed down using 120 grit can’t believe how smooth it already is then to do 400 and 600 ready for final primer.

Never done this side before and really enjoying it. Going to finish all other bits then do the rubbing down prime and then paint.

Looking good.

You are lining up a lot of sanding there. If that is the finish with 120 wet and dry, I would just prime, I use cellulose primer, maybe lightly flat that back with 250 wet and dry. Apply a contrasting colour mist coat and sand using water and a bit of soap.
Then apply the finish paint.
It is many moons since I worked in a body shop. If the top coat was a bit 'orange peely', we would sometimes rub it back with 600 grit used wet and then polish but even then only the bits that really caught the eye. A good spray job didn't really need anything.

They are your fingerprints that your sanding away, so feel free to do it any way you choose but I'm not sure that you will see any real benefit.

So got round to do some more work sadly as I work in the NHS I am still working but that’s a good thing.

Started on the test end ribs and trim tab. Rudder now cut correctly at the bottom. Will rub down with 600 and then prime and put rivets on.

Been doing wings and ribs and Sliding canopy and retaining catch.

Stay safe

Well some progress unfortunately as a NHS working I am still working so time is limited on this.

Many thanks for the input on which colour scheme to go for lol
Been doing a lot on the metal panels never done this ever so learning curve is vertical.
Started to prime now after rubbing down with 600 grit. Will flatten once done then start on the hundreds of rivets omg.

Hi Stuart
Spoke with Nigel on the phone and email he’s got my photos to do the decals, he’s pretty busy but injured his ankle a few weeks ago.

Thanks Wayne. I was after a sheet of Chipmunk nomenclature labels but never got a reply to my e-mail. Might try him again.
Great flying model. You are nearly there!

Hi Ian
A complement from you is very welcome, there are a few things I would do or change but am happy so far but yes think my best.

I should be fitting the motor I got off you in this weekend and wire all the cables up, need to apply the walk ways on.
Never created panels before so was pleased I used that metal sheets you gave me years ago.

God knows how name rivets all from Mick Reeves.

Nigel from Flightline Graphics did a great job so it makes her look even better got the pilot from Wilson which will add scale to her.

I will let you fly her no problem

Will hopefully be able to fly a three ship this one and my other plus Darens Black one will look nice at the shows

Many thanks
Wayne
