Massed Spitfire Flypast at Cosford.

Gentlemen, it has fallen to me to rally owners of 1/5 and 1/4 scale Spitfire's for an organised flypast at LMA Cosford this year.
This of course is to mark the 75th anniversary of the Spitfire's maiden flight.

I have no idea how many are out there but, we are looking for competent , confident owner/ pilots, who are able to form up in a group and handle at least some circuit/ run throughs and display '8's as a group.
I guess there are two features to this , firstly the models are of a decent scale finish ( no shedfires ) as I call them.
Also you will be able to follow the slot leaders instruction on what is required whilst airborne.
Depending on response and numbers it may fall into two waves.

If you would care to express an interest or commitment here I can get an idea of numbers and plan the slot.

Evening gents.
Just another call here on this one to see who is planning to bring a 1/5 or 1/4 scale Spit along to join in the Cosford flypast.
I am still aware of only 7 pilots so maybe you could all confirm again and others that have yet to do so..
It would be nice to rival Duxford who sometimes have managed to gather 14 aircraft.

According to the local rag giving tickets as prizes we have 15 Spits doing 2 mass flybys a day. Mind you they also said the Vulcan, Victor and Valiant are all up together and the Dawn Patrol are putting 2 waves of 20 up. Think the press have got it wrong again!!!!

ANDY--a bit of artistic advertising is always good---we were hoping for 15 spits,and they will be scrambling twice each day----plus Dave tapp has assured me they will have 2 large waves of D/P--providing its not too windy of course !!! and when the ad was done ,we were hoping to have the 3 v bombers in formation,but its unlickely now that this will happen-----but i am in talks with some extra special full size at moment ---that would make up for the lost slot---DAVE

Missed Spitfire Flypast.
All I can say is sorry for not being in the first 'wave' as i was clapped from gigging all night before.
When I did arrive mid morning, I charged and hastily assembled Connie and jogged to the flightline in antisipation of seeing a field of green grey and brown camouflage eliptical wings.

Ken thank God you were there with Andy, the Luftwaffe would of laughed all the way back to Cap Gri Nez.
Oh well, just wait for a real tribute.

Mike--yes i agree,its a pity it didnt happen as expected--i was as guilty as the rest not making the slot---BUT ,if anyone fancies another try at Elvington--we have 7 spits booked in already--PLUS the real thing from the Memorial flight will be visiting us on the Saturday pm--hope to see you all there
