Boring update I'm afraid.

My YAK is progressing but taking pics of hinges being stuck in or radio gear being mounted didn't seem very exciting.

The goal though is to have it ready to test fly at the Baldock scale meet next Sunday.

However If I run out of time, it will still be there for the static shots.

Nice one Steve. Once the YAK is test flown and fully sorted, the next job on my list (before finishing the Bearcat) is fit the new engine into the Thunderbolt!!

I have been wanting to do these for a while so with some spare time waiting for a delivery which never arrived I made up some scale hubs for the Yak. fitted to Dubro 4 1/2" tires, 6mm axle with ball races. As you can see there is a spare set of hubs ( I have no more tires ) £38.00 the pair with bearings & axles. I can not do any more at the moment as I am out of bar. They will be available through kingfisher Aviation later next month complete with tires.

Looking good David, the new fibreglass moulds are now done, so will get a set of covers to you soon, the abs ones just weren't up to the job.

Had another two flights today with the new wheels on, found it less bouncy on the tail having the ball race's instead of bushed hubs ( ground is a little bumpy anyway).

Yep, mine flew today. The issues I had to face were the fan thing not cooling the engine, the prop being larger than normally used on G62's (but it looked great), the CG position not really known for ideal yet........and the fact that I was shaking like a dog that was desperate!!

That aside, it tracked straight on take off and needed no trim change at all so pulled straight up into a half cuban then started a full aero display! It felt so comfortable so quickly that many believed it wasn't the test flight. Trust me...it was!

I had 3 flights today and they were simply faultless. I is one happy bunny

pics and vid soon hopefully

The pictures look fantastic as is the finish on both of these models.
Top models from top pilots. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting back and watching the flying.
This must be the best home grown kit in ages. The number built so far would say that it's a great entry to not only Warbird flying, but also realistic scale manoeuvres.
Bloody great.
