Tony Nijhuis- 95" Vulcan

May be not as impessive as DJ's but today was the first flight of the 95" single turbine powered Vulcan and what a cracker....

AUW is 26lbs with fuel and Wren 100 for power but a cheaper Wren 80 would be more than adequate.

As it says -95" Vulcan I'd guess;-)

Remember its built for one turbine instead of two so some scale details will have to of been altered

Also once it get completed (paint and canopy etc) I'd imagine it would like like a semi scale practical model, and a cheap entry to a large turbine model

A 707 would make a great project though!!!!

There is a radius shroud that will sit round the pipe outlet so side on the tail will appear to have the normal Vulcan 'dome' tail. Just worked out the wing loading and its about 18oz/sq foot......no wound she flew scale at 1/3 throttle!!

Would the scale exhaust outlet be to far apart to have a bifurcated pipe to the inner outlets?

I don't think a Bif pipe would work Mke.....the wing is too thin to hide a pipe breaking out of the fus into the engine nacelles....better off trying a couple of small wrens. Currently making the VAC forms for the canopy and engine nacelles

Looks great and I agree with Chris the lights finish it off. I was amazed how big it looks and only needs a 100 size turbine. Well done Tony another one for the stable.

Safely down

Now building MK2 with only a wren 80 for power.....just so I know it works with an entry level Turbine!!!
All the test flights were done with the Wren 100 dearated (in RPM to 145,000)to match the power of an Wren 80
