Seeing how I have a bit more time now, I have recently got back in the shed and started to sort out and revamp some of my all time favourite hacks for the local flying site, nothing fancy just you average club stuff. So I was wondering what are you lot up to, are you doing anything new for 2014 for yourself or for the shows etc... If so why not show us what your doing, I am sure we would all be interested.

It certainly is the weather for it at the moment Dave. Hope everyones keeping safe. I'm currently finishing off a Pilatus PC-9 hopefully in time for a Concours show in February, thinking about starting on the Stuka i've got and also getting my dad involved with the building process (Although he has stated he will not fly a model). They are ARTFs but I strip them down and rebuild them to a better scale or finish. Also learning about designing aircraft using CAD and so far i've managed to produce a couple of spars for a Miles Master 1.

Trying to get a 1/4 scale PNP Yak 3 finished, I have been working on it for the past three years, and it is not far from it's maiden flight, still in primer, but I want to see how it flies before painting.

Not for the shows, but just for a bit of fun at the RCM&E fly in, I am building a Mini Jazz as part of the Forum "Mass Build".

Then there are the plans for the 1/4 scale DVII that are saying build me. But before that I must cover the Farmhand.

Hi James, just finished re-doing all the control surfaces on my Sky-120 that I built a couple of season ago, as they had all gone sloppy. I am refurbishing my ¼ scale Cub the clipped wing version, as it meet terror firmer a couple of seasons back and just got left, as time was a bit tight to do anything with it. Just bought an EDF ME262 for a winter hack, can’t wait to get on the sticks with it when the weather give us a break.

Paul, nice to hear you are nearly there with your Yak keep at it, the ¼ scale DVII will fit in will this year as it is 100 years since the Great War. I am looking at the Farmhand at the moment I might do a build article for the Journal if I decide to buy one.

Kevin, I too follow the Mass Builds on RCM&E forum but have never had a go at building any of them, something for the future I think.

Sounds good Dave, is it the Dynam one? Ive got a Hobbyking B25 foam which is great fun and very scale.

Hi James, yes it is, they haven't got the sale quite right, the engine nacelles are wrong but hay, you really have to know your planes to notice.

im gona build a smaller tony nijhuis dak i think ..call me mr unadventurous to build a half size dak but it wont fit in my house lol

Late last year it was decided that the Wellington would make a good multi engine trainer. 5 kits were ordered from Slec and picked up at Gaydon show,
This is definitely not a beginners kit, not a clip together type. An amount of fitting of the various bits is needed to complete, but at today's prices, the amount of wood in the kit represents good value for money.
Over the Christmas break, in between the wind and the rain, I have managed to take some pictures.

WoW! Lynne, as Mike been to bed yet since he started it. Well done Mike you put the rest of us to shame, it looks like it will be ready for East Kirkby then.

So where are the other four then. That would be a sight at the shows, five Wellingtons flying around it would bring a new meaning to the trainer slot that’s for sure.

Here's a couple of pics of one of my winter projects. Its a Flying Flea built to half scale. I'm playing catch up on the other one that was displayed at Gaydon, built by mates Tony and Anthony Hill. Built exactly as per the full size, there are no plans, just an original 1936 copy of Henri Mignet's book on how to build a Flying Flea. Also a pic of the full size I'm replicating.
