You won't be disappointed, Richard. Match it up to a Biela 28x10 and you'll have the perfect combo'......
Incidentally, we took the Connie down to Phil at Clacton yesterday for the finishing job (a knackering 650 mile round trip!). We're hoping to pick it up the Sat. of Gaydon weekend - fingers crossed!

looking great Keith......Did you mod the retracts at all. i seem to remember i made them using some old Len Gardner wheels. Dubro now do a giant size selection of their lightweight range which I think are a better wheel.

Might be resurrecting the Conni plan and down-size to produce a 72" version... i think your model will certainly generate interest once on the show circuit...

Hope to see you at Gaydon.....

Yes, Tony, the legs are to be remade in SS and the wheels have been replaced with Sullivan Skylites with Ali' hubs.
Hopefully, the paint job will be finished for Gaydon.

I've made it an abiding principle in writing articles, columns and in public commentary - as well as life in general - to give credit where it's due.

This fabulous aeroplane would not have been possible without the efforts of two master craftsman and very fine gentleman, Peter Johnson and Phil Noel. I cannot express my gratitude enough.

The pictures say it all.

Peter's fitted-out an outer panel, engine, ignition unit, tank, etc.. He's also installed his very nice dummy radial engine.

We had a session yesterday connecting-up one of the two radio system distribution boards (my contribution to the project) and adjusting throws on the flap (2 servo's), aileron, carb' and landing/nav' light. All worked first time.

Another one to go, then it's on to the centre section.....

Now that the centre section engine/tank/servo' installations are completed, Peter's been beavering away for the last fortnight or so fabricating brakes.

The pic's show the fabulous construction/lathe work evident on the drums, hub half-shells, etc..a real work of art - with much sweat and Ali' swarf on the workshop floor!
