AutoCAD HELP please

Postby richard armstrong » January 5th, 2015, 5:10 pm

I would like help scaling
i want to trace a plan i have got and rescale

really need help setting up design/page templates? for different paper size & printer etc

the plan is 1/4 scale and i wish rescale using the auto cad scaler, what i want to know

do you have to set up a template page first at 1.1, or set up the page template @ 1.4 scale i get confused when trying to sort this out,

is someone can teach me the process, i can set up a remote session using team viewer

any help appreciated and thanks in advance

I've not used AUtocad for a year or three...which version are you using?

Most important thing is to always draw at full size.

If you've imported a 1/4 scale drawing, scale it up to the size you need so that it's full size.

To print, what I would do is draw a full size rectangle the size of your printed page (A4, A3, A2 etc) then copy the rectangle so that it covers all the areas of the drawing that you want to print.

Then when you print a selection, snap to each page-sized rectangle & it will print that chunk of the drawing at the right size. Tape all the bits together, job done.

Do your drawing at the size you want it then go to printer and select actual size, the printer will then tile the drawing and add registration marks for joining, this is of course if your printer only prints smaller than your drawing. Find someone with an AO printer or take your drawing on a cd to a digital print office, not expensive ;-)
