Control surface throws.

Postby David Jones » January 12th, 2015, 4:45 pm

Hi all, does anyone know the control surface throws for the Jerry Bates 1/4 scale Sea Fury? I've got all the plan sheets, including drawings for the undercarriage but I'm blowed if I can find them printed anywhere. I've tried the Jerry Bates web site but my computer can't navigate it for some reason. I need ailerons, elevators, rudder and flaps. Thanks in advance. Jonesey.

Dave

Jerry doesn't generally give control surface movement recommendations......most builders go by personal experience of what works for them. I always go for the 'that looks right' approach......

However.......going back 5-6 yrs.

Rudder......as much as you can get
Flaps - Full down is between 70-80 degrees IIRC
Elevator & aileron are both pretty powerful so don't go mad........max 3/4 - 1" either way.

Thanks for that Phil, I thought I was going "plan blind" at one stage. I'll be starting a build thread in the next few days. Jonesey.
