Sorry to bore you all rigid with my health issues, but had a third spell in hospital in five weeks. Back home but still too unfit to do much. Had 1.1/2 gallons of fluid drained off of my gut cavity and all that goes with that procedure. I expect it will be several weeks more before I can resume the model. I may have to cancel my display at Gaydon at this rate. I hope not but we'll see?

Hi Malcolm,
Hope you're OK. Has your health allowed you to do any more work on the Beverley?

Received this email from Pat Porter today:

This is to let you know that Malcolm passed away on Thursday last. He was in the process of building a Beverley and I understand he had arranged with someone in the association to carry on with the build if he was unable to finish it. I can't remember the name of that person so this is something of a needle in a haystack. Malcolm had a blog on here I believe which was very popular, with many people following his progress. If you can help me trace the person who can carry on this project I would be most grateful. Thank you,

If the person mentioned can contact me, I will give them contact details.

Lynne

How sad.
I never met Malcolm, but his enthusiasm for the hobby came across in his build thread.
I hope someone can complete the Beverley in his memory.
R.I.P. Malcolm.

Very sad news indeed, having got to know Malcolm, he was not only very enthuastic with the build but also a very methodical and a very nice person.
He will be missed very much on the forum for his build updates on the Beverley.
My condolences to his wife and family.

I must echo the above posts and state my sadness at Malcolm's death. Unfortunately I never got to meet him however was a great admirer of his dedication and courage to take on such a challenge even when seriously ill.

The great sadness is that he did not get to see his wonderful creation take to the air,how utterly frustrating for him.Let this be a lesson to us all, we never know what's around the corner so make the most of every day.

Condolences to his friends and family.

Karl

A sad loss, I have enjoyed following Malcolm's build thread. It would be great to see his dream completed in his memory.

Thinking forward to helping get Malcolm's Beverley finished, if any help with the undercarriage is needed by the member who is going to take on the build I will gladly donate any parts needed to be machined.

This is indeed a sad loss - Malcolm epitomised the "back to basics" spirit of non ARTF builds and it is obvious from the "hit counts" on the thread he created about his project that a large number of modellers visited his site regularly. Just prior to his death I had been in touch with him to encourage him to display his model at Gaydon in October. He told me that Paul Needham had offered to transport it for him.
I do hope some effort can be made to encourage his family to let this happen - I had already set aside the space in the main gallery for him.
